Recently, the Excavator Branch of China Construction Machinery Industry Association announced the sales data of excavators in January 2021. In January 2021, the 26 main engine manufacturers included in the statistics sold 19,601 excavators, a year-on-year increase of 97.2%; among them, the domestic market sales volume was 16,026 units, a year-on-year increase of 106.6%; export sales were 3575 units, a year-on-year increase of 63.7%.
Excavator sales in 2020 will grow rapidly, and January 2021 will have a good start. From January to December 2020, the sales volume of excavators was 328,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 39.0%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points from January to November 2020. The excavator industry continued to recover. In January 2021, the sales volume of excavators was 19,601, ushering in a good start, continuing high growth, with a year-on-year growth rate of 97.2%. In January 2021, the operating hours of excavators were 110.5 hours/month, an increase of 87% year-on-year; on the one hand, due to the low base of operating hours in January 2020, on the other hand, the operating hours in January 2021 remained relatively Higher level, reflecting the strong demand for downstream construction.
Both domestic and export demand are booming. Since January 2021, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Nantong and many other places have concentrated on the first batch of major projects this year. Among them, 64 major projects in Shanghai have a total investment of 273.4 billion yuan, involving high-end industries, technological innovation, and infrastructure. And major livelihoods; Zhengzhou’s 209 projects have a total investment of 138.11 billion yuan, involving three aspects: advanced manufacturing, modern service industry, and urban transformation and upgrading. In January 2021, the export sales of excavators were 3575 units, a year-on-year increase of 63.7%, an increase of 19.3 percentage points from December 2020. After the Spring Festival, major domestic projects will continue to be launched. At the same time, as the overseas economy gradually recovers, demand for excavator exports is still expected to remain strong. It is expected that the construction machinery industry will continue to maintain high growth in the first half of 2021.
